Labour MP Duncan Webb joins the Coherent podcast to expose how the Regulatory Standards Bill tips the scales in favour of corporate property rights — at the expense of everyday New Zealanders. From supermarket prices to democratic lawmaking, he explains why this Bill matters for us all.
We must take your point Melanie that the Coalition Agreement would not be breached if the wording of the Act were completely re-written. All (weak) Luxon agreed to was to enact a RSB. The actual words in the bill have not been agreed to.
So every word could be changed for the better to improve the bill.
My belief is that Luxon is an ACT Trojan horse, echoing the beliefs of his back room staff and his lieutenants Bishop and Willis.
Fantastic interview with Duncan Webb – thanks so much Melanie! Everyone who is interested in FairPlay in New Zealand. Should read this interview or watch it – it covers everything!
