New tool: How the RSB could affect your sector
The Regulatory Standards Bill (RSB) is being pitched as a way to improve the quality of lawmaking — but its hidden impacts are wide-reaching, ideological, and potentially severe.
To help people get to grips with what’s at stake, I’ve worked with Ryan Ward and others to develop a tool that shows how the RSB could affect different sectors — from health and education to climate, disability, local government, drug policy, and more.
Each section includes tailored, real-world questions to help you reflect on how the Bill might change what’s possible in your area of work or interest. It's designed to spark kōrero, raise flags, and support submissions.
Explore the tool here: https://tinyurl.com/RSBTool
Please share widely — especially with people working in the public sector, community organisations, or policy. The more people thinking critically about this Bill, the better.
We also have a submission guide for those wanting to make simpler, personal submissions. https://tinyurl.com/RSBsubmissions
There are also simple submission builders available online, for example, Hāpai te Hauora and Greenpeace.
Don’t forget to make a submission before 1pm on Monday 23 June!
You will have also noticed that I am publishing numerous podcast episodes this week. I have several more coming on the RSB - I’m putting these out with much greater frequency than I normally would so they can be available to help people with their submissions.
